Someone in the FlashComm list just pointed out this really good thread at macromedia dealing on how to use Camtasia to capture your screen for streaming with FlashCom. Just gave it a try downloaded the trial version and found it really usefull plus very easy to use. Although for live capturing it would only allow you a maximum of 320x240 resolution, it could be used for higher resolutions when recording to a file and converted to .flv for streaming later.
Wow just found this beautifull charting application at actionScript.com
Built by Cognos this application is a great example of how flash mx is far away from the twenning days.
It's really funny too to find this now that we are almost finished with a huge project that involves a lot of seamlike code. Although ours involves a lot of database interaction through Java Server Pages, looks like they just went over it and simplified things even more using flash remoting.
check it out, it's really well done.
So after having built a ton of tests on Flash Communications Server, I was fooling around with the Admin Console, checking out the logs of all applications I had built. Suddenly I decided I wated to restart a couple of them, and without noticing I choosed to unload the base application where all my test .fla's where placed. Wham! and I destroyed everything. No way to recover it :(
According to Asimov's Law;
* A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
* A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
* A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
That Admin Console should get lifetime prision. :P
Today I downloaded and installed the trial version of Flash Communications Server, and in a couple of minutes I had put together a chat. spend some more time, and suddenly I got a video chat, text chat, multi cursor display, multi user whiteboard, and a little thinggy that all users could just move around and fight for.
FlashCom is definitively a big hit. I can't wait to spend more time with it.
Wooha, that was a long time between updates! Well, there's been a lot going around. I was super busy with my job but luckilly I could overcome my workaholism and take a break in Mexico for two weeks.
New winds are blowing in Tokyo again; before leaving on my trip I decided to move forward with my career and take the tough decision of leaving DentsuFUSE, where I got to meet the most amazing people ever. For the following month I'll be freelancing here, and really looking forward to get a full-time possition anytime soon.
So, here we go again, there's a lot of new plans, I'll soon be adding here an even more updatable blog section, probably focusing on MX technology. (you've GOT to have a blog these days huh?) Also Planning to give away a set of Flash components, and a lot of source code.
Got to pick up painting again too. I have a couple of comissioned works that are almost half a year late already:P
Whish me luck!
Love to all.
